WELCOME
I am delighted to welcome you to LiGHTS Expo 2018. The University of Lincoln is proud of its reputation for providing a high-quality student experience underpinned by a research culture that seeks to contribute to the development of society. LiGHTS Expo 2018 offers anyone and everyone the chance to explore the university and enjoy being intrigued, inspired, informed and amazed by the discoveries that are being made here in science, technology, engineering, maths and the arts.
LiGHTS is Lincoln’s contribution to a Europe-wide celebration of discovery in which universities across the continent open their doors to wider publics and put science in the spotlight. Here in Lincoln you will find interactive displays, demonstrations, talks, films, quizzes, tours and exhibitions along with opportunities to talk to experts, try out equipment and take part in research. Whether you want to challenge a robot, use eye-tracking equipment to see if you are safe to text while walking, find out how your dog sees the world or learn how and why to get a good night’s sleep – or much, much more – there really is something here for everyone. I am sure you will have a memorable day, and I wish you a very enjoyable visit to LiGHTS Expo 2018 at the University of Lincoln.
