Bat talk and walk

An introductory talk about bats, followed by a walk with detectors provided for members of the public to use and walk around the Castle grounds surveying for bats. Find out more about Lincolnshire’s bats, their life-cycle, echolocation, habitat requirements, food/foraging, conservation status and threats, conservation and survey methods, the law, volunteering opportunities, bat care, and a Q&A session. The Bat Walk (using bat detectors) will start at 19:15, with a short talk, followed by a leisurely stroll looking and listening for bats. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We advise wearing warm clothing and sensible footwear. Please bring a small torch.
